At the end of the day, as visitors make their way back down the mountain,
you are among the few privileged guests to ascend and spend the night at the Pic du Midi de Bigorre !
On arrival at the summit, you are escorted to your room. There is still time to stroll across the terraces and take in the views of the Pyrenean range, before enjoying a specially prepared welcome cocktail.
One of the first highlights of your evening unfolds on the terrace, where you watch the sun slowly sink behind the Pyrenean peaks, playing hide and seek with the mountains before fading into night.
As darkness falls and the stars appear above you within the International Dark Sky Reserve of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, you make your way to the restaurant for a traditional dinner specially prepared by the chef.
After dinner, wrap up warm — a long and unforgettable night lies ahead. Your guide then leads you into the world of astronomy.
Discover exclusive access to the Charvin dome, home to a 400 mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The evening programme of discovery and stargazing is offered in collaboration with Instant Science (French only).
To witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Pyrenees, an early wake-up is well worth it.

As a final highlight, you are treated to a guided visit of the scientific domes in the research quarters — an exclusive experience of the “Nights at the Summit”, as this is a working site not normally open to the public, in partnership with the Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées.

It really comes down to personal preference! Winter offers crystal-clear air and magical icy landscapes. Summer is milder, perfect for enjoying the terraces late into the night. Either way, the experience is magical all year round.
Even in summer, temperatures can drop. We recommend a three-layer system: a breathable T-shirt, a fleece, and a warm windproof jacket. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are essential for moving around the terraces.
