Grand Tourmalet (Barèges - la Mongie)

The largest ski resort in the French Pyrenees

Resort closure – Grand Tourmalet

The Grand Tourmalet resort will be closed this summer due to maintenance work. The lifts will not be operating during this period. However, the Pic du Midi remains accessible, along with hiking trails and road cycling in the area.

Dominated by the majestic Pic du Midi de Bigorre, Grand Tourmalet takes on a whole new character when the snow melts, revealing an exceptional mountain landscape. Far from the winter buzz, the area between Barèges and La Mongie turns into a green, unspoilt playground where nature once again sets the pace. Here, the Pyrenees reveal striking contrasts between rugged ridges and flower-filled valleys.

An amazing Bike Park in an incredible setting. The scenery is stunning and the trails are very well designed. Perfect for beginners, while still offering speed and fun for more advanced riders.

La Mongie is one of the two sectors of the Grand Tourmalet ski area, stretching across both sides of the legendary Tour de France mountain pass. In this sector, a blue run crosses the famous Col du Tourmalet. The views between Barèges and La Mongie are breathtaking. Great slopes!

Nikolai

A full week enjoying snowshoeing trails. The routes are very well planned, taking you through both intimate landscapes and wide-open panoramic views.

The Grand Tourmalet ski area: a family-friendly yet huge resort in the Hautes-Pyrénées. The scenery is wonderfully varied, from the tree-lined slopes of Barèges to the sunny runs of La Mongie. Plan a full day to make the most of the entire ski area.

Lisa

A really fun Bike Park to ride. Trails with jumps, berms, and enduro tracks featuring steep sections and technical features. The trails are in excellent condition and the Bike Park team is very welcoming.
